Rapid ideation homework

Week 2

This week we began concepting our posters. I'm looking at wealth inequality, so from brainstorming, I created a concept. We also used the technique of rapid ideation and word association to create a number of concepts based on our topic. I got the word heart and the phrase "dead as a dodo" to create some concepts. I found this strategy quite useful, as it makes you take concepts to places that you might not have thought of, and allows concepts to be created with non-traditional imagery.

Week 1

In week 1, we were organised into groups to debate equality in New Zealand. Our group had to argue that New Zealand was equal, and we did this mainly through comparison of NZ statistics against other countries. It was a harder viewpoint to argue, as you can't really deny the inequalities that others bring up, instead you have to downplay and justify the inequalities. We also looked at examples of poster design, detailing the ihi and wehi. I Even though we may have been fighting a losing battle with the debates, it was good to get more in depth on some things, such as wealth distribution, which I'm looking to make my theme.
